Program: Thursday, January 5th: “Quilt Stories”. Polly started quilting about 30 years ago when she saw ladies at the church working around a quilt frame for the church bazaar. She worked with an elderly neighbor to make her first quilt, which she still has. Four years ago she retired from her educational career and at the same time the quilt shop in town was in the process of closing. After some family encouragement, she was embarking on her next career.

Sign up at our November or December quild meeting for a mystery quilt adventure. The cost to participate is $6 (due at sign-up), which covers the cost of the Debbie Caffrey pattern. In December, at our guild meeting, you’ll receive the first set of instructions.
The remainder of the mystery quilt instructions will be given during the Saturday SPAM workshops in the months of January, February and April.
You’ll need about 2 to 2 ½ yards of a focus fabric, which will eventually be the border and binding. From this focus fabric, pull three colors and choose the following fabrics: 1 ¼ yd light, 1 ¼ yd medium and 1 ¼ yd dark. (You could also make this a scrappy quilt and choose a variety of fabrics in each category.)
Besides your basic quilting supplies, the mystery quilt requires a 6 ½” Easy Angle Ruler.
The finished quilt, before adding borders, is 40” x 60”.
SPAM workshop dates for Mystery Quilt classes: Jan. 21, Feb. 18, April 21
